Game Story

While researching for a game project, we stumbled over a cute green parrot with an owl-like face and a waddling gait: the endangered New Zealand Kakapo. It was immediately clear to us that this bird must be the main character of our new game.

Kakapo means night parrot in Maori. Kakapo are nocturnal, cannot fly, but they climb well. When we started developing this game, there were only 148 Kakapo left. Learn more about the critically endangered parrots, which live today on three predator-free islands, on the New Zealand Department of Conservation website.
